Bryce Canyon, Utah
Bryce.. Another of our national treasures. Eons of snow/ice erosion carves the Paunsaugunt Plateau away just a tad more each year - creating the ever changing "canyon" of HooDoo formations we see today. As the sun and moon make their daily orbit, a dance of color, light and shadow are choreograhed in this place that could not be replicated anywhere else on earth. Red and I spent almost two full days in the National Park - hiking perhaps eight miles on the Queens Garden, Navaho and other various rim trails. In the evenings, we were amazed by the wonderful vistas from Bryce, Inspiration, Sunset, Sunrise and Fairyland Points. Bryce Lodge General Store provides picnic style provisions, so we took advantage - at Sunset Point, perched on a split-log bench, we shared our dinner as the sun set to our backs and the color of evening played before us in this wonderful natural amphitheater . We felt especially alive and blessed just to be here. Hopefully we captured just enough for ourselves to remember.., and to dream of returning again.Read More
